European Green Week

10/06/2022

EU Green Week  is the key event in the EU environment policy calendar. This annual opportunity to debate and discuss European environmental policy attracts policymakers, leading environmentalists, stakeholders and other interested parties from across Europe and the globe.

Down the years, EU Green Week delivered on its objectives, improving the understanding of EU environmental policies, feeding into debates about their development, enhancing their implementation and creating a community of involved stakeholders and citizens around Europe.

This year the Green Week took place from 30 may to June 5. It focused on the European Green Deal - the EU’s sustainable and transformative growth strategy for a resource-efficient and climate-neutral Europe by 2050.

The EU Green Week 2022 conference, organized by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment, took place in hybrid format on 30 - 31 May 2022. It opened with a high level debate on what happens to the EU environmental policy in times of crisis. The following day, three important aspects of the transformation – circular economy, zero pollution, and biodiversity, were in the spotlight.

To mobilise involvement and contribution from all sectors, in addition to the high level conference, a series of events organised by partner organisations from across Europe took place, featured officially in the Week's programme
