After the incredible success of the inaugural digital Sustainable Investment Festival, Incisive Media  (an award-winning business to business digital media and events business) has held the second Sustainable Investment Festival that took place on 11 and 12 July at The Brewery in London.

Sustainable Investment Festival is the only event that brings together fund selectors, financial advisers, pension consultants, trustees, and scheme managers to help them better integrate ESG into scheme portfolios and provide solutions for clients and investors that want to make a positive impact on nature, society, and planet.

Running in July for two days, this flagship event met the information needs of Professional Pensions and Professional Adviser audiences at a time of rapid change for the industry as the sector faces a wave of new regulations and growing investor scrutiny.

The event gathered the inspiring keynote speakers, who were challenging the industry to walk the talk on sustainable investing and sharing their insights on future trends.

The Festival also hosted practical sessions aimed at bringing delegates up to speed with the latest developments in areas including regulation, data, reporting, and skills.

Meanwhile, the event highlighted the plethora of opportunities for investors in this important area across asset classes, including showcasing best in class sustainable investment funds and solutions.

What is Sustainable Investment? Sustainable and Responsible Investment is a long-term oriented investment approach, which integrates social, environmental, corporate governance and ethical factors (ESG factors) in the research, analysis and selection process of securities within an investment portfolio. It combines fundamental analysis and engagement with an evaluation of ESG factors in order to better capture long term returns for investors, and to benefit society by influencing the behavior of companies.”(Eurosif definition. See: European SRI study 2016, Eurosif).

Responsible investment has boomed in recent years as investors have recognized the opportunity for better risk-adjusted returns, while at the same time, contributing to important social and environmental issues.
