Ahead of the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference (COP27), the European SDG Summit 2022 has convened sustainability leaders worldwide to address one pressing question: how can we build together a green and inclusive Europe?
After the pandemic and amid the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the world needs to accelerate the journey towards climate neutrality and the adoption of an inclusive approach to the green and digital transition. The scale and magnitude of the effort ahead require not only individual commitments to net-zero but also collaborative actions from all stakeholders.
The event took place between the 10-12 October in a new hybrid format.
The Summit convened more than 100 speakers including business and industry leaders, EU policymakers, and representatives of civil society from Europe and beyond. It was based on the best digital formats for highly interactive discussions and quality networking with more than 5000 participants worldwide.
3 high-level plenary sessions and 18 European SDG roundtables were live-streamed and fully accessible online. The sessions covered the following three main tracks: An Economy with & for People; Sustainable Raw Materials & Value Chains; Sustainable Markets & Finance.
The Summit has released 8 industry-led publications showcasing the latest sustainability best practices, to help businesses advance on their Just Transition journey and meet the targets of the European Green Deal.
The Summit was organized by CSR Europe in collaboration with CSR Europe’s network. More than 45 partners are involved including multinational companies, international organizations, and National CSR Networks.
