CSR and cross-sector partnership

Training: CSR and cross-sector partnership

Cross - sector partnerships are commitments between public, private, and/or non-profit institutions in which partner organizations commit various resources and agree to work cooperatively toward common societal goals. These partnerships are gaining increasing attention in the modern world, brought about by greater recognition of the role of private sector in socio-economic development.

For companies, partnership with other sectors is an integral part of corporate social responsibility. It is the best tool to achieve large-scale results with relatively lower investments, position the brand in the community, and build constructive relations with the local Government.

When neither civil society organizations, nor local Governments or local businesses have enough resources to tackle local problems, cross-sector partnership has proven to be a well-tested method around the world to resolve issues that are relevant to all three sectors.

Such partnership projects allow to combine the resources and unique capabilities of various sectors to create sustainable public value and deliver both social and economic value, which can be mutually reinforcing.

The training provides information and practical knowledge on following issues:

  • The essence of corporate social responsibility and cross-sector cooperation
  • Motivating factors for various actors to get involved in such cooperation and benefits for each of them
  • Ways of cooperation between civil society organizations, business companies and local Governments to create the shared value for all parties involved and for society
  • The roles of different partners
  • Planning, implementation, and evaluation of social results of an effective partnership project
  • The main drivers and trends around cross-sector partnerships
  • Examples of partnership projects in Georgia and Europe
  • The importance of cross-sectoral partnership in the post-COVID era

The training is intended for representatives of civil society organizations, businesses, local Governments and mixed groups from various sectors.
